Story of Architect of Crazy House in Dalat:

Architect Dang Viet Nga. She has a special identity. Born in 1940 in Hanh Thien village (Xuan Truong, Nam Dinh), Dang Viet Nga is the daughter of the late General Secretary Truong Chinh. However, her background does not seem to have much influence on her independent artistic path so far. But few people know that, in order to achieve complete independence and freedom in creativity, she has experienced many joys and sorrows, hardships and difficulties. Because of her father's important position, her childhood was a journey from her hometown to Hanoi, then to the Viet Bac war zone to live.

At the age of 11, she went to study at Children's School in Guilin, China. In mid-1954, she was sent to Moscow, the former Soviet Union (now Russia) to study, and graduated from Moscow University of Architecture in 1965, until 1972 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis also in Moscow. Returning home, she worked at the Institute of Architectural Design of the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Culture.

Crazy House Dalat

During a business trip to Da Lat, Ms. Dang said that she fell in love with the lush landscape, cool climate and kind people and hoped to eventually move there. In 1983, she moved to Da Lat with her 8-year-old son, Nguyen Viet Thang. In February 1990, she planned to build Crazy House. But instead of using blueprints, she used a series of paintings to convey her wonderful imagination.
