Alphonse Mucha: Master of Art Nouveau

The expressive and seductive work of Alfons Mucha, characterized by his images of elegant women and the thoughtful use of color and ornament, played a significant role in shaping the aesthetics of the decorative style known as French Art Nouveau.

In thisexhibitionmore than 70 works are presented - from rare original lithographs, drawings and books to portfolios and ephemeras. Partly due to the highly developed methods of reproducing his time, the work of Mukha reached an extremely wide audience and gained immense popularity. His compositions were so attractive that they became known as the "fly style" and embodied most of the artistic and decorative endeavors at the turn of the 20th century.
