Katherine Chan Goodwin has the experience keep Plano schools great. She has an SMU MA, is a graduate of Leadership Plano, a PTA Life member, Treasurer for Barron Elementary PTA and ArtCentre of Plano, has served on Plano isd’s Diversity Committee, and the Council of PTA’s Antiracism Committee.

  • Katherine Goodwin will ensure educational excellence and equity by working to close the opportunity and achievement gaps for ALL our students, whomever they are, wherever they come from.
  • Plano ISD must help students and parents to feel their children are physically and emotionally safe at school—lifted by the comfort of feeling they belong.
  • We must honor our educators by paying them what they deserve, protecting their ability to teach the truth and rebuilding trust.

Finance. As someone with a quarter century of experience being a Treasurer for multiple PTAs and non-profits, I am deeply concerned with Plano ISD's $¾ billion budget, its almost $40 million deficit, and ensuring that recapture payments to the state don't force our schools to make painful cuts to services.
