I just love Banksias. The seed pod cones were called ' the big bad Banksia men' in May Gibbs childrens stories of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Her illustrations showed these seed cones as angry men with legs and arms, and the seed pods forming the faces. I have such fond memories of these books.
