This Aston Martin DBS got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1971 Aston Martin DBS V8 is one of 404 examples produced between January 1970 and May 1972 and one of 40 left-hand-drive examples equipped with a ZF five-speed manual transmission. Chassis 10203 was completed to Swiss-market specifications on April 30, 1971, and was dispatched to the Nicaraguan embassy in Mexico City on May 17, 1972. It was purchased by the Mexico-based second owner in 1976 and reportedly remained under their ownership for the next 40 years. A cosmetic refurbishment was completed in 2020, and it was purchased by the selling dealer in 2021. The car is finished in green over Natural leather upholstery, and power comes from a 5.3-liter V8 that is equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Equipment includes a Powr-Lok limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear units, power-assisted steering, air conditioning, power locks, and a Becker Mexico cassette player. This DBS V8 is now offered with a build sheet, British Motor Industry Heritage Trust documents, factory literature, service records, refurbishment photos, Mexican registration documents, a hardbound copy of The Aston Martin V8 Register 1969-2000, and a Texas title that lists the car as a 1970 model.

The William Towns-penned DBS was introduced in 1967 as one of the last models launched under Aston Martin owner David Brown’s tenure. The V8-powered variant debuted for 1969 and was billed as the fastest four-seat production car in the world at the time.

This example was repainted in its current green in 2020, and the brightwork was also removed and polished at that time. Styling includes a full-width grille with quad headlamps, a hood scoop, fender vents, a driver’s door mirror, horizontal taillamps, and a rear lower valance finished in black. Mexican registration stickers are affixed to the rear window, and they can be seen in the gallery along with Triplex glass etchings and photos taken during the 2020 paintwork.

The 7×15″ GKN alloy wheels feature DB-branded center caps, and they are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato HS CN12 tires that were installed in 2020. A matching spare wheel is mounted under a cover in the trunk. The DBS features an independent front suspension with unequal-length wishbones, a front anti-roll bar, and a De Dion rear axle with parallel trailing arms and Watts linkage. The car was delivered from the factory with power-assisted steering, and stopping power is provided by servo-assisted disc brakes with inboard rear units.
