This 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT was modified by Overland Expo as its 2021 Ultimate Overland Motorcycle Build and will be displayed at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 2-5, 2021. The bike is finished in Darkness Black Metallic with a black two-up seat, and power comes from a water-cooled 1,084cc parallel-twin paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Modifications include an Outback Motortek skid plate and crash bars, Denali Electronics lighting, Heideneau K 60 Scout tires, Garmin navigation and GPS, a custom-mounted Superwinch winch, an AltRider DualControl brake system, Doubletake folding mirrors, hard luggage by Jesse Luggage, and soft luggage by Wolfman Motorcycle Luggage. This Africa Twin is now offered at no reserve in Nevada with factory books, tire changing irons, and a clean Indiana title. All proceeds from the sale, including the BaT buyer’s fee, will go to the Overland Expo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that funds groups and individuals who help protect and advance the overland community.
All 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES models are finished from the factory in Darkness Black Metallic, and this example was modified by Overland Expo with crash bars, engine guards, a heavy-duty skid plate, a center stand, and a rear luggage rack from Outback Motortek. Doubletake Mirror folding units are fitted, and aftermarket lighting was sourced from Denali Electronics and includes D7 and D2 auxiliary lights, T3 SwitchBack Signal Pods, and a DataDim Dual-Intensity controller.
The wire-spoke wheels feature gold rims and are mounted with 90/90-21 front and 150/70R18 rear Heidenau K 60 Scout tires that were replaced by Overland Expo after the provided photos were taken. The front suspension features a 45mm inverted fork with 9.1″ of travel, while the rear features a single shock offering 8.7″ of travel. The Africa Twin features a lean-sensitive ABS system. An AltRider DualControl brake controller was fitted by Overland Expo, and stopping power is provided by dual Nissin four-piston hydraulic calipers over 310mm cross-drilled rotors up front, and a single-piston rear unit over a 256mm rotor. A Superwinch winch is fitted up front.
The KonTour two-up seat is trimmed in black mesh and was installed by Overland Expo in 2021. Storage is provided by Jesse Luggage and features a Challenger 10″ pannier set, 45-liter top box, lid racks, lid bags, and mounting racks. Soft luggage by Wolfman Motorcycle Luggage is also included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. Damage to the panniers is viewable in the gallery.
The gold handlebar features heated grips and factory switches as well as a Garmin Zumo XT navigation system and inReach Mini GPS unit. An adjustable windscreen is fitted ahead of the factory 6.5″ touchscreen, which controls suspension settings and features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The digital odometer shows 7,300 miles.
The 1,084cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin was factory rated at 101 horsepower and 77 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a drive chain. AltRider radiator guards were fitted by Overland Expo in 2021. Scratches on the engine case and frame are visible.
The bike will be on display at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 2nd to the 5th and can be viewed at the Honda booth.
