Visit the Murray River, Lakes & Coorong – South Australia in 2022

The Murray River, Lakes & Coorong Tourism Alliance has released their visitor information guide for 2022.

Inside the guide you’ll find everything you need to know before visiting the regions covered which include the Murray River towns of Swan Reach, Mannum, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend and Goolwa.

There is also information on the lower lakes areas of Meningie, Lake Albert, Lake Alexandrina and the Langhorne Creek wine region. The beautiful and unique Coorong and Murray Mouth area is also covered in the guide as are the towns of Karoonda and Pinaroo to the east.

The guide has a wealth of information on things to do when visiting these towns, and shows places to dine, cellar doors to try, houseboat holiday inspiration and river boat tours, accommodation options and caravan and camping opportunities. There is a list of caravan parks as well as some low cost campground and reserves mentioned, where you can holiday by the river or the other towns covered in the guide.

On the subject of caravanning in these regions, you may just spot a photo of our rig in the guide! I took this photo of our LandCruiser and van parked in front of the award winning painted silos at Karoonda during a leisurely holiday we took, following the Murray River from Renmark in South Australia all the way down to Mannum, staying at free camps and caravan parks along the way.

A relaxing getaway following the Murray River is one I can highly recommend, so if it’s been on your list too, pick up this latest guide which should be available soon from all South Australian Visitor Information Centres, and make a plan to enjoy this wonderful part of Australia.

The guide can also be seen online at https://www.themurrayriver.com/

Cheers

Glenys
