CMU Place at Twilight Open

The Colorado Mesa University Men's Track and Field team competed over the weekend at the CSM Twilight Open, hosted by Colorado School of Mines; other teams that competed in the event included other RMAC schools such as Metro State, Western State, UC-Colorado Springs, Adams State, as well as D-I schools Colorado State, Colorado, and University of Northern Colorado.

Augustus Barnes and Tyler Daniels, both Freshman, had a good showing for the Mavs in the 200m Dash when they finished 6th and 13th, respectively, with final times 23.94 for Barnes and 24.56 for Daniels.

Freshman Justin Wallace had the best day for the Mavs in the field when he finished 9th in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.16m (20-02.50), and 2nd in the Triple Jump with a distance of 13.69m (44-11).  Junior Randy Brown also had a good day in the field when he placed 10th in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.09m (19-11.75), and 3rd in the Triple Jump with a distance of 12.82m (42-00.75).

The Mavs begin to wrap up their indoor season when they travel to Chadron, Nebraska to compete in the RMAC Championships on February 24th.
