Yabby Tank Mate Compatibility

 

It is recommended that yabbies are kept on their own however if kept in a large aquarium with plenty of hiding spaces, multiple yabbies can co-exist.

Yabby Food :

Feed a nutritious diet formulated for yabbies in the form of sinking pellets. 

Your yabbies will enjoy fruits and veggies such as carrots, zucchini, peas, spinach and most fruits. They will enjoy raw meats occasionally also.

Aquarium Lights and Lighting

Yabbies don't require any specific lighting requirments.

Filtration

A good filtration system is necessary to maintain water quality. Yabbies are sensitive to chlorine and other water pollutants. 

Temperature

Yabbies do best in cool-warm tanks (10-22°c) and are best kept alone. A thermometer is recommended to monitor the water temperature.


Decorations for Yabbies

Artificial plants can work well in your yabby tank, as yabbies will consume live plants. Ensure plenty of caves and tunnels to hide in.

Additionally, you can also choose to use Aquarium Ornaments such as: Kazoo handmade fish decorations.

Substrate for Yabbies

Gravel and round pebbles are good substrate for the yabbies. Alternatively, no substrate at all.
