Here's an infamous one; a blatant clone of Super Mario Bros. that managed to attract Nintendo's attention and got pulled from the market. This obviously meant that it became the hottest game on the pirate scene, and found its way into pretty much every collection of pirated Turbotape-games around. As a game, it's very good (in much the same way that Super Mario Bros. is good). As for how it compares to the inspiration, I'm not opening that can of worms. Suffice to say Commodore 64 players loved it, and if you ever ask a former owner about their favourite games, chances are good they'll mention Giana Sisters. Developed by the German studio Rainbow Arts.
