Emu Egg Engraving: Dragon, tutorial
I received this lovely emu egg, and thought, I need to make something cool out of it! This is the natural color!
So I fired up my Foredom flex shaft and went to work!
I started light, since I wasn’t sure how it was going to go.
The egg has some un-even-ness, so it was a bit of a challenge. Plus, hold without squeezing!
Just in case you were wondering, this is how emu compares with ostrich. I had painted mine black because it had some crappy painting on it and I planned on painting something else over it. I may try the flex shaft on it anyway.
I was very pleased with the results!
Very clever.

It was a little touch and go there, but I love how it turned out!
