Michael: Stop calling me ''Wacko Jacko''

Note to VH1: Michael Jackson really didn’t like your new unauthorized biopic about him, ”Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story.” Star Flex Alexander (of UPN’s ”One on One”) told EW recently that he’s ”always been a Michael fan” and that the TV movie, which debuted Aug. 6, was not ”a Michael-bashing movie.” Nonetheless, Jackson blasted the film as the latest in a long line of smears against him and his family, including the nickname ”Wacko Jacko” and recent tabloid reports that he was secretly fathering quadruplets. In a statement, the singer said that the VH1 film ”in no way shape or form represents who we are as a family.”?

”It is unfortunate that for years, we have been targets of completely inaccurate and false portrayals,” Jackson said. ”We have watched, as we have been vilified and humiliated. I personally have suffered through many hurtful lies and references to me as ?Wacko Jacko? as well as the latest untruth about me fathering quadruplets. This is intolerable and must stop.”

Jackson wrote the statement on Aug. 10 but didn’t issue it until last week, after it was cleared by Judge Rodney Melville, who’s overseeing the upcoming child-molestation trial against Jackson and has imposed a gag order preventing Jackson’s camp from discussing in public matters related to the trial. Jackson, who has denied the charges against him, did not refer to them in his statement. ”My family and I have dedicated our lives to spreading unity and peace to the world through our music,” the statement said. ”All I can hope for is that one day, my family will be shown the same kindness and respect that we have, throughout our lives, shown to others.”
