Samuel L. Jackson revealed in an interview with Star Wars Insider that the one line he had been looking forward to saying in the entire prequel trilogy had been, ‘May the force be with you.’ Standing to be the most iconic line of the Star Wars franchise, Jackson wanted to be the first one to say that line in the entire series.
“To see it on the page when I first got those script pages it was like, ‘Oh man, I get to say the line.’ And then it got to be, ‘It’s the first movie. I wonder if I’m the first person to ever say ‘May the Force be with you?'”
His driving force had been the thought that he would technically be the first person ever to have said the line because it was the first film of a prequel series at that. However, reality is often disappointing.

In the interview with Star Wars Insider, Samuel L. Jackson explained how for the longest time he had been under the impression that he was the stakeholder of the line seeing that he was supposedly the first person to say it as well. This misconception quickly came crumbling down when he first saw the film.
“And then I watched the film for the first time last night and Liam said it before I did. So I was like, ‘Damn!’ [Laughs]”
It was then that he learned about who actually stands as the face of saying the line for the first time. Liam Neeson. It was the Taken actor who had gotten the chance to say the line before him, shattering his train of thought regarding the wild theories that were popping up in his mind about the line.
