I always thought the Targa Floria was a 2door all alloy V8. Ugly as sin but the built-in safety standards were quite revolutionary for their time. All are now the norm for modern cars. Public demanded spacious cabin area and a large boot which is what they got combined with a lot of safety design and this did not make for a good looking car as far as the general public were concerned. And YES a 44 gal. drum does fit in the boot with the lid closed. I drove with 2 others to Ayres Rock and back from here in CQ. in 1974 in a brand new one of these.(Not mine) Even had a 16 gal. cruise tank out of a boat sitting on the shelf between the rear wheel arches plus all our food, camping equip.,clothing etc. etc.. The poor old girl was loaded to the gunnels and handled it no problems at all....... cheers Phil
