Watch Willem Dafoe as Vincent van Gogh in First Trailer For AT ETERNITY'S GATE
The first trailer has been released for a new film called At Eternity's Gate, which stars Willem Dafoe as legendary artist Vincent van Gogh. The movie isn't a traditional biopic, but it will take us on a journey into the mind of the man, who created several pieces of stunning art throughout his life. Here's the synopsis:
At Eternity’s Gate is a journey inside the world and mind of a person who, despite skepticism, ridicule and illness, created some of the world’s most beloved and stunning works of art. This is not a forensic biography, but rather scenes based on Vincent van Gogh’s letters, common agreement about events in his life that present as facts, hearsay, and moments that are just plain invented.
This is quite a moving trailer and it looks like Dafoe gives an incredible performance. The movie was directed Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) and also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Oscar Isaac, Emmanuelle Seigner, and Amira Casar.
At Eternity’s Gate premiered at the Venice Film Festival and will make its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 12th.
