James Cook University

James Cook University is one of the public universities based in northern Queensland, Australia. It is also popular as JCU. James cook university was established on 20 April 1970 as the James Cook University of North Queensland. The university is named after British sea captain James Cook, who is known for being the first European to travel the east coast of Australia. James Cook University Act 1997 obtained assent by the Governor in Council on 29 August 1997 and was published on 1 January 1998. JCU is honored as one of the leading universities in the world. James cook university is operating many campuses such as Townsville Campus, Cairns Campus, Singapore, Brisbane, Mackay, Mount Isa, Thursday Island & Rockhampton.

Townsville Campus
JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus is established in the Townsville Tropical Intelligence and Health Precinct (TropiQ) in the suburb of Douglas. you can explorer 386-hectare natural bush and parkland setting, 13 kilometers (8 miles) of the Townsville CBD, the campus organizations around 1,400 students in colleges and halls of residence.

Cairns Campus
3,000 students study at JCU Cairns, with 335 international students. Those students are immersed in a dynamic learning atmosphere with opportunities available for study, work, and play. Among academic staff dedicating to student support and success, a careers team willing to assist students with work both during and post-study, and a myriad of academic and sporting clubs on offer, students at JCU Cairns have a world of experiences available to them.

Mackay

JCU Mackay presents a world-class education for nursing students, practising in the Bachelor of Nursing Science. JCU Nursing and Midwifery is leading in regional, rural, and tropical healthcare sciences. The whole Bachelor of Nursing Science course can be performed at JCU Mackay and covers a science residential program at JCU Townsville in the first year of study.

JCU Brisbane
The modern campus in the centre of the Brisbane central business district, JCU Brisbane allows bachelor’s degrees and postgraduate courses in business and information technology for international students. Students have access to improved job-support services, and clear English language and academic pathways.

Mount Isa
A growing range of health care classes is available from JCU’s Centre for Rural and Remote Health (CRRH), building access to health education for the remote west region of Queensland. The JCU Centre for Rural and Remote Health (CRRH) Mount Isa campus has been named Murtupuni (pronounced Mer-da-pun-ni), which means to “come together, gather together” in the Kalkadoon language.

Thursday Island
The AITHM Clinical Research and Training Facility on Thursday Island is adjacent to the Torres Strait Hospital and facilitates research, training and community engagement. The facility provides teaching and learning facilities for JCU students in the Torres Strait region at the northern tip of Australia.

Rockhampton
JCU Rockhampton, presenting expert medical training, is found in a modern high rise building in the core of the city. Postgraduate students can reach the facilities as part of JCU’s GP Training Program. The JCU GP Training Program gives clinicians the opportunity to develop their scope of work through working in private clinics and in hospitals wherever they’ll gain practise treating a range of conditions in low resource settings
