7-Eleven to take over 230 rival stores in the US

7-Eleven is set to take full ownership of all Stripes convenience stores and Laredo Taco Company restaurants in the US.

The convenience store chain revealed it agreed to acquire 204 stores from fuel distributor Sunoco LP, including remaining Stripes convenience stores and Laredo Taco Company restaurants across West Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

“Stripes and Laredo Taco Company have been a great addition to our family of brands since they initially joined us back in 2018,” said 7-Eleven CEO Joe DePinto.

The acquisition will take place immediately following the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Currently, there are over 13,000 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations under 7-Eleven’s ownership, franchise, or license, across the US and Canada.
