Description

The Brunswick Heads Boat Ramp is located within the Brunswick Heads Boat Harbour precinct, providing boating enthusiasts with direct access to the beautiful Brunswick River and adjoining waterways.

The ramp is approximately 1km west of the Town Centre and has ample parking available. The boat ramp is a dual lane concrete surface with no charge for usage. Additionally, the ramp provides fish cleaning facilities, rubbish bins, sheltered BBQs and picnic tables. Boating supplies are also available nearby including public toilets.

The Brunswick River is governed by the tides, and tidal movements need to be considered, especially when planning longer trips. Some parts of the river are not navigable at low tides. Before setting out for the day, it's recommended to obtain local knowledge of the waterways and check the local weather forecast. All vessels must travel at safe speeds, and the speed limit is 4 knots (8kph) on the north & south arm.

At Brunswick Heads Boat Ramp, visitors can hire tinnies, canoes, stand-up boards, kayaks, and other recreational watercraft. The pirate boat, moored opposite the Brunswick Hotel, and the Boatharbour are some of the locations where visitors can hire the recreational watercraft. Additionally, visitors can also participate in a range of excellent tours and charters departing from the Brunswick Heads Boatharbour. Awards winning eco-certified cruises on the Brunswick River are run by Byron Bay Eco Cruises and Kayaks, while Whale Watching and diving tours depart from Byron Bay.

Canoeing and kayaking are excellent low-impact ways to learn about the estuarine environment. Visitors
