Description

Natural Bridge is a stunning rock formation located in Springbrook National Park.

The park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area and is situated about 100 kilometres south of Brisbane and 30 kilometres west of the Gold Coast.

Visitors can easily access Natural Bridge from the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road car park. There is a one-kilometre circuit that takes visitors through the ancient Gondwana rainforest to the Natural Bridge rock arch. The surrounding forests are home to hoop pines, which are living relics dating back over 180 million years.

Springbrook National Park is a wildlife paradise, and visitors to Natural Bridge can expect to see a variety of bird species, frogs, and glow-worms. Some notable species include paradise riflebirds, green catbirds, and rare frogs like the cascade tree frog and tusked frog. Guided nocturnal tours allow visitors to see the protected glow-worms and microbats that inhabit the area.

Swimming in Cave Creek and accessing the creek bank is prohibited in the Natural Bridge section due to safety concerns. Visitors should be aware of this restriction.

For those who want to spend more time at Springbrook National Park, there is a camping area called "The Settlement" camping ground. It is recommended to be quiet, mindful of the slippery ground, and avoid smoking and using insect repellents inside the cave when visiting the glow-worm caves at night.

The best time to visit Springbrook National Park is in spring when the rainforest is teeming with life and the waterfalls are at their prime. Summer is also a great time to visit, especially for those interested in seeing nocturnal creatures like glow-worms and fire
