Things and activities to do on a visit

The Detian waterfall

The best time to visit Detian Waterfall is from June to November when the water is full and crystal clear. However, as the seasons change the natural scenery changes beautifully making this waterfall ideal to visit at any time of the year. During spring, the red blossoms of kapok trees surrounding the waterfall are in full bloom commemorating success. During autumn the area turns golden yellow and in summer, the waterfall cascades in full momentum but in winter the water calms down and falls down slowly creating a unique sculpture created by nature. Under the waterfall is a bog water pool home to big delicious fish and visitors can see villagers catching fish as they sing catchy folk songs.

Shatun Waterfall

This is another famous waterfall in the scenic area that flows down from seven terraces nut it is not as powerful and humongous as Detian Waterfall and looks like a polite lady collaborating with the peaceful and quaint natural scenery.

Forests

In addition to breathtaking waterfall views, there are amazing sights with great greenery and forested peaks such as the Leiping Stone Forest and the Water Stone Forest flanked by old fashioned rafts, terraces and fascinating gorges. There are also limestone caves in the area.

Qiaomiaoping  Lake

Qiaomiaoping Lake attracts hundreds of tourists with its queer rocks under water forming glass-like waters along with many other cultural relics, historical sights and unique animal species.

Heishui River

Also known as the Black Water River, this river got its name from black reflections of the hills and trees surrounding it in the most. A boat ride on this river presents an opportunity to get in touch with nature and the local lives of the minority Zhuang people going by their daily life working on terraced farms.
