Never Have I Ever fans are eagerly awaiting news of a second series on Netflix and many have been wondering what will happen next for Devi Vishwakumar.

But one thing we can all agree on is that the show definitely needs more of Devi’s dad Mohan.

The hit comedy series on Netflix follows teenager Devi as she tries to move forward with her life after the shocking death of her father, and the unexpected physical reaction she had to the traumatic experience.

Played by Sendhil Ramamurthy, some of the show’s sweetest moments took place when Devi’s late father appeared via flashbacks and visions.

And speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Sendhil explains that he would love more flashbacks which highlight Mohan’s relationship with Devi’s mother Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan).

He explained: ‘I think that there’s a ton more to explore in a second season.

‘There’s no shortage of things for Devi because there’s still going to be unresolved issues with the relationship with her mother, andwith her father being gone.’

The Flash star continued: ‘I have no idea whether Mohan is going to show up again or not. But if he were to come back, I’d love to see kind of an exploration of their marriage of Nalini and Mohan’s marriage.

‘I think that would be really cool to see how they came together and what their life was like before Devi was born because that’s where you see how a relationship grows.’

The actor added: ‘As an actor, it would be cool to explore how they became the parents that they became and how that formed Devi and how she grew up to be who she is.

‘I’d love to see more from Mohan’s point of view and from Nalini’s point of view. But who knows what’s coming… we’ll see.’

When we suggested that the flashbacks of Mohan and Nalini love story could be shown alongside Devi’s own romance developments (with either Ben or Paxton), Sendhil admitted he would love to watch that play out.

The Heroes alum stated: ‘That’s a really interesting take. I think it’s a really cool angle because, without a doubt, that affects your relationship as you’re developing relationships as a teenager and as a young adult.

‘Your reference point is often your parents relationship. I think it’d be very interesting to juxtapose the two of them and see what happens…whether it ends up being Team Paxton, Team Ben or whoever else ends up getting introduced into the story!’

Another thing the New Amsterdam star revealed he would like to see in a second season would be the return of narrator John McEnroe.

As an avid tennis player himself, the actor loved having the sporting legend involved in the show.

He gushed: ‘John is Mindy’s dad’s favourite player so it’s such a nice shoutout to Mindy’s dad that he got involved.

‘And I’m a big fan of his as well. He does a great job and I truly I loved his narration. The cameo he does in the last episode was inspired.’

We couldn’t agree more!

Never Have I Ever is available to stream now on Netflix.
