While he was the biggest thing on the footy field, he couldn’t crack the music charts. In 1985, AFL star Warwick Capper was hitting the high marks both on and off the field. He was climbing up the ranks at the Sydney Swans, and climbing up the ladders in womens’ stockings.
His fellow AFL ‘sparring’ partner Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson had released a novelty song I’m An Individual which achieved Number 1 status in Australia, so Capper thought “If he can do it, I can do it too!”
So in his well known self-endulgent ways, churned out this … song .. I Only Take What’s Mine – in the same year.
It failed to achieve any status, only than the bargain bin.
Be mesmerised as Capper starts to sing the song, then eventually turns to the women he tries and pick up, ending on getting marks in the game.
