Please join us for Remembering Ralph Eugene Meatyard.  Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s Curator of Photographs Richard McCabe and award-winning photographer Emmet Gowin will be in conversation tying photographs to memories of Gowin’s personal experience with “Gene” in the years 1968 – 1971.  The shared vision of two great American photographers will be explored through Gowin’s fond memories of their first meeting in 1968 through Gowin’s participation in Meatyard’s final photographic project, The Family Album of Lucybelle Crater. The parallels in each photographer’s art practice and personal stories of friendship will be told through Gowin’s fond recollections of his friend. Gowin will also discuss and read passages from his book, Ralph Eugene Meatyard – A Fourfold Vision.
