Lake Wendouree, Ballarat

Lake Wendouree

Description

A man-made lake averaging a bit over 2 metres deep, and located near the centre of Ballarat. Despite the trees surrounding most side of the lake, it can be prone to high winds depending on the direction. There is plenty of parking around all sides of the lake, with 3 seperate boat ramps, multiple jettys, and various soft beaches suitable for launching small craft and paddleboards. There is a 5 knot restriction for all powered boats on the lake, and the primary craft are usually rowing sculls although canoes and kayaks are commonly spotted too. There's also plenty of other facilities available in the parks surrounding the lake.
