This trail takes the paddler through two picturesque lagoons off the Murray River, each with abundant birdlife. There are two portages of about 250m at the northern end of each lagoon (Murbko Flat lagoon and Irwin flat lagoon) and one across a bridge at the southern end of Murbko flat lagoon with return via the river.

A loop trail that takes paddlers into Lake Alexandrina from Wellington at the southern end of the River Murray to Point Pomond and return.

paiwalla wetland

Paiwalla Wetland

A loop trail starting from the Mypolonga boat ramp through a wetland trail known as Paiwalla and returning via the Murray River. The wetland was formerly a dairy farm on the floodplains of the lower Murray. The property has been purchased by the Wetland Habitats Trust and is being restored to wetland by a group of passionate volunteers interested in preserving the unique flora and fauna of this area.

Finniss River Trail

A scenic trail down the Finniss River, its backwaters and return. The Finniss River flows roughly east to its mouth in the Goolwa Channel of the lower Murray River, opposite Hindmarsh Island. A relatively safe paddle for novices along the reed-protected river.

This loop trail starts and finishes at the launch site in a reserve located at the end of the Mundoo Channel Road. The full day paddle takes in the Murray Mouth and includes a visit to Godfreys Landing.
