Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o confirm romance with public hand-holding date

Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o confirmed their new romance when the actors were spotted holding hands while taking a stroll on Tuesday.

In photos obtained by TMZ, the “Black Panther” star and the “Dawson’s Creek” alum were spotted taking a stroll in Joshua Tree, Calif., hand-in-hand.

The new couple lovingly gazed at each other as they smiled and enjoyed a nice conversation on their sunny walk.

Nyong’o, 40, dressed casually for the date, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with the words “IT’S OKAY TO CRY” written across it, yellow pants and hiking boots.

Jackson, 45, was also dressed down for the outing, also sporting a white long-sleeved shirt, brown paints, white sneakers and a blue beanie on his head.

He also had a black jacket wrapped around his waist, while his date had a yellow sweatshirt wrapped around hers.

The romantic stroll came more than a month after they were spotted attending a concert together following their respective breakups with Jodie Turner-Smith and Selema Masekela.

On Oct. 18, the “Us” star and the “Dr. Death” actor were photographed sitting next to each other at Janelle Monáe’s “The Age of Pleasure” tour stop at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, Calif.

The pair smiled, chatted, sang and danced alongside their group of friends.

However, at the time, sources told TMZ that there was nothing romantic going on between the actors.

The following day, Nyong’o took to Instagram to announce that she was no longer dating Masekela, 52, alleging that there was some “deception” in their 10-month relationship.

“At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust…” she wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Jackson is currently going through a split with Turner-Smith, who filed for divorce from the actor on Oct. 2 after nearly four years of marriage.

The “Queen & Slim” actress, 37, cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split and is asking for joint custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Janie, according to court documents obtained by Page Six at the time.

Turner-Smith listed the date of separation as Sept. 13, 2023.

A source told Us Weekly that Jackson was “caught off guard” by his wife’s divorce filing and didn’t think their marital issues were enough to split.

However, another source told People they were in a very “unhealthy” marriage.

“They are on very different paths in life,” the insider told the outlet. “Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working.”

“It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to continue to thrive.”
