A prop, resin lightsaber hilt wielded by Liam Neeson as Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in George Lucas’s Star Wars: Episode One - The Phantom Menace. This particular prop lightsaber hilt was created for use when the Jedi Master would need his lightsaber ignited onscreen. The metal threaded rod protruding from the emitter end is the mechanism used for screwing on customized aluminum “blades” that would be digtially traced over in post production by ILM to create the glowing lightsaber effect so synonymous with the Star Wars franchise.
