Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp rose water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cardamom powder. Mix well.

  2. Add ghee and milk to the mixture. Use a spoon or your hands to form a soft and smooth dough.

  3. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into smooth balls. Avoid applying too much pressure while shaping.

  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the dough balls and fry them until golden brown. Drain the excess oil on a kitchen paper.

  6. Add the fried dough balls to the syrup and let it soak for at least 30 minutes.

  7. Serve hot or cold with some syrup.
