Rome’s historic centre encapsulates the heart and inspires the mind. Not only do the wall tell tales millennia old, but its people carry the traditions of a society that shaped so many others. Architects and hotel designers have to work within the confines and constraints of Rome’s ancient architecture. The Pantheon Iconic Hotel Rome, a stone’s throw from the Piazza Navona manages to walk this line exquisitely well. Since opening in early 2018, it has drawn attention for its striking décor as well as its rooftop bar, an open-air space that offers almost 360-degree views of the surrounding area.
Designed by Studio Architettura Marco Piva and inspired by the geometry of the nearby 2000-year-old Pantheon, each room nods subtly to what is regarded by some as the best-preserved building from Ancient Rome. Part of Mariott’s Autograph Collection of hotels, it is also home to two restaurants managed by Michelin-Starred Chef Francesco Apreda.
Location
Set in the heart of the Eternal City, The Pantheon Iconic Hotel Rome is located in a unique position, around the corner from the Pantheon and just a few minutes’ walk from the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona.
Amenities
Two restaurants, a lobby bar and a boutique give guests a slice of real luxury. Each room comes with a suite of gadgetry to ensure optimal comfort including; air conditioning, a smart TV and Wi-Fi as well as the usual in-room extras. There is also a complimentary smartphone for use around town which includes free international phone calls and roaming data.
Rooms
The Pantheon Iconic has 79 beautifully appointed rooms including 18 suites spread across 10 categories. The most basic is the ‘Classic’ whilst the ‘Dioniso Terrace Suite’ is reserved for those demanding something truly special.
Food
Idylio by Apreda is the latest attempt at a Michelin star by chef Francesco Apreda, an intimate 22-seater restaurant with a high-vaulted ceiling and dramatic lighting. Guests can choose to dine à-la-carte or opt for one of the three incredibly appealing tasting menus: ‘Inside The Pantheon’, ‘Seasons at the Pantheon’ and ‘Iconic Signature at the Pantheon’.
The Divinity Terrace Lounge Bar offers a more relaxed setting with space for 30 guests. The Divinity Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and serves up a mixture of traditional, Japanese and Indian inspired cuisine due to Chef Apreda’s abroad working experience.

A classic room starts from €300 to €800 per night.
