Redhead Matchstick Games & Collections

My last post about Smart Phones 4 Stupid People got me wondering how we used to entertain ourselves before all this new technology.

One of the reasons Smart Phones are so addictive, I believe, is because they're so transportable. And before this technology, obviously, if we wanted to entertain ourselves in many locations, our 'toy' or 'toys' must be easily transportable, and just like that... Readhed matches snuck into my thoughts.

Remember the games, the tricks, and the useful info they used to put on the back of their boxes?

Hours of fun, and it's so easy to bring along to a party, or an event as a social adhesive. Naturally, there were probably some wall flowers playing by themselves. Most likely because somebody had a better 'toy' for the moment.

Despite this, it brought back memories and have found the following interesting links.

Also here, they have a few of their matchstick games you can play interactively on flash. Unfortunately, I think a couple of their solutions are incorrect. Check no.1 and comment below. Also tell me the solution if you know it!

I love looking for small games ideas to include in team building ice breakers or quick bonding moments. Also, I like to have a game or two which I can carry around in my backpack or car for use at the appropriate moments. Like when someone brings their kids to work, and they're bored, and no one knows each other. They make great ice breakers. For a few minutes, I get to play Sudo Uncle. Ha!
