Mag Launcher’s “Mach Punch” attack from Evolution Worlds.
Good heavens, look at the time: It’s “Talk About RPGs Few People Give A Rat’s Ass About” O'Clock.
So, I played a bit of the original Evolution: The World of Sacred Device and one of the things that stuck out to me compared to Evolution 2: Far Off Promise is the dungeon aesthetics design, particularly in the room designs. I’ve seen footage of Sacred Device’s later dungeons, and it’s not uniform (not even in the dungeon above), but it stuck out to me that the Sheol Ruins had sections that weren’t “boxed in” so to speak).
By contrast, Far Off Promise’s dungeons don’t have that “open space aspect that Sacred Device’s dungeons sometimes had, though the overall level design is varied (due to being specifically placed rather than procedural generation).
(The screenshot is from the first dungeon of Worlds, but said dungeon is based on Far Off Promise’s Tower of Despair. Either way, you get the point).

Rare artwork of Mag Launcher, Pepper Box and Chain Gun from Evolution 2 Far Off Promise found in Dreamcast Magazine as part of a calendar. While the calendar in question uses already released Evolution 2 artwork, this one has not been released to my knowledge.
For my first post of 2020, have this Evolution “Millennium Special” telephone card, which is now on it’s way to being 20 years old.
When I get a chance, I’ll scan the postcard one that came with the Japanese strategy guide and upload it if it’s clearer/better quality.
Dreamcast Magazine has 3 Evolution comics focused on “fake” Linears, so here’s the trilogy all at once.
A bit of fanart on the Evolution 2 site spotlights all three versions of Linear.
A clip from Evolution: The World of Sacred Device for the Dreamcast, showing the Cyframe Upgrade shop. In this version of the game, when Mag either went shopping or did Cyframe repairs, Linear would do something in the background, in this case, interacting with the shopkeeper’s daughter. In Evolution Worlds, the Pannam Town Cyframe Upgrade shop is the same as the Museville one to the point of removing the shopkeeper’s daughter, and thus this little detail got removed.
