NoctilucaScreen Project
Noctiluca scintillans are sea sparkles, small bioluminescent beings that produce the mareel or Milky seas effect. They transform the sea in a big bioluminescent screen, in a big non-human screen.
NoctilucaScreen is a project that seeks think through experimental audiovisual compositions the possibilities of a non-anthropocentric cinema. A cinema that thinks our relation with the earth and the cosmos in an immanentistic perspective. Our perception must leave their anthropomorphic condition and become cosmomorphic. The cinema that interests us claims to a cosmopolitical propensity in their inner relations looking for a new etho-ecology of the image. We can´t be indifferent to the time of catastrophes that we live. We can´t turn our backs to Gaia and her intrusion. NoctilucaScreen calls for impossible visions that can help us to invent modes of being together with the world through the images as becoming passages. It means, the cinema must be a sea of sparkles of life, a bioluminescent screen that does not project our image, but that is constantly looking for a new image of the thought, making the human an incessant becoming with the world.
