The show's not over for passionate film critic Margaret Pomeranz, who will front two new Foxtel shows.

The popular critic will present and review films, and examine TV shows and online content.

She returns to the small screen on Wednesday, March 4, to introduce films on Foxtel Movies Masterpiece.

Then she will join respected actor/director/journalist Graeme Blundell to co-host the new show Screen, which will air on the soon-to-be launched Arts channel.

Screen will encompass movies, TV shows and online product as well as interviews.

Pomeranz said the opportunity to join Foxtel arose the minute it was announced ABC was retiring At The Movies, which she created in 1986 and co-hosted with David Stratton.

Stratton and Pomeranz exchanged their views on upcoming feature films, first at SBS and then the ABC, before their emotional final curtain call late last year.

She said Foxtel's executive director of TV, Brian Walsh, offered her the two new roles.

"He suggested I might like to introduce movies on Foxtel and I thought 'I'm not dead yet'," Pomeranz said.

"They have such a treasure trove of films it was right down my alley.

"I was going to write a book but that will have to wait now."

Just sitting alongside Blundell and talking about TV and online product would be enough to distinguish Screen from At The Movies, she said.

"It's got to be different," Pomeranz added.

"It looks at interesting movies and television and there's plenty of great TV to look at so in essence it will be different."

Margaret Pomeranz Presents will premiere on Wednesday, March 4 on Foxtel's Movie Masterpiece channel at 8.30pm.

Screen will launch once Foxtels' new Arts channel comes online in March.
