Although the life of model, tv personality and product endorser Anna Umemiya has been impacted by many important people, it is her father who truly had the greatest influence.

Her equally famous father is no other than drama actor and TV personality Tatsuo Umemiya whose death in December 2019 from chronic kidney failure shocked Japan.

The loss has shattered the close-knit good-looking Umemiya family – Anna, her mother ex American model Claudia, and Momoka, Anna’s daughter from a failed marriage.

On June 4, Anna Umemiya updated her instagram followers on what’s going on in her life. She said she is moving back to a new place in Shibuya where she was born and raised, to start a new beginning.

Anna moved to Kanagawa in March 2019 after her dad had an operation for left renal pelvic ureteral cancer. She has been living there since he passed away in December.

Known for his love of family and cooking, her dad instantly became a homemaker after she was born. He would go grocery shopping to carefully select food for her picky-eater. In a TV interview, he famously said, “My daughter is a picky eater. I had to deliver homemade bento to Anna’s school every morning.”

On June 10 after Anna has completed her move, she posted another update on instagram, this time, crying.

“As I read the cooking recipe book that my father left behind, I cry.  He cooked me food all the time. .. Always. .. It was packed with love.”

June 20 is Father’s Day in Japan. Show the greatest dad in the world some love and appreciation.
