The Mossman Gorge is located 77 km north of Cairns or a short 20 km north of Port Douglas. It is a 56,000 hectare site within the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park. The site is spectacular with the crystal clear waters cascading over the granite boulders. Disabled parking is available at the top end of the car park adjacent to the entry into the visitors centre. A gently sloping ramp leads from the car park into the centre. The information centre has a cafe and accessible toilet facilities. A wheelchair accessible shuttle bus links the visitors centre to the trail heads. The shuttle bus has a raised platform for level boarding both at the information centre and at the trail head. The trail to the Mossman River Lookout (Baral Marrjanga) is a boardwalk suitable for wheelchairs, mobility devices and strollers. It has tapping guides to aid visitors with low vision. It is a 10 minute stroll to the viewing platform at the first swimming hole. Beyond that point the path continues over Rex suspension bridge to follow the rainforest circuit which is 2.5 kilometres in length. There are numerous steps beyond the first viewing platform.
Access to the waterhole is by steps only.
