  1. The American girl Abby Sunderland will just stop in Cape Town, South Africa for
repairs, she will continue her circumnavigation, no longer non-stop, but yes solo.

for Jessica: chapeau (I’ll take my hat off)

  2. The younger American girl has said that her attempt is going to end due to damage to the yacht near South Africa. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked out but it looks it will for Jessica.

  3. Thank God we don’t have to worry about seven & nine fighting over who gets first interview! Thank you ONE for support Jess throughout, not just when she’s about to finish!

  4. What an awesome girl Jessica is, and an excellent role model for all girls… An absolutely fantastic Australian achievement, and I’ll definitely buy Jessica’s book when it’s released…

  5. @Paull. Yes you are right. I personally can’t get over the fact that the child is 16 and it is so terribly dangerous. I know she’s not my kid and I can’t impose my standards on other people but what does it do other than tell other kids that they can do whatever they want as long is it’s somewhat sport involved and breaks a record. In other words “look at me, look at me!” If it’s all about the sailing and personal satisfaction it does not have to be at such an early age. Just my opinion.

  6. Jess is a brilliant kid. She did it when there were a lot of people kicking and doubting her. I will be down the harbour waving the day she comes in.

Following her blog on the journey has been wonderful !

  7. I’ve been following her blog. She has managed to stay remarkably sane and stress-free (unlike Jesse Martin, who went a little kooky halfway through). I am very impressed by what she’s achieved.

  8. she like hot hey well i reckon she pretty she got a pretty good bod and legs for her age she just maybe need to put on weight but i think she should do a shoot for zoo or fhm ha joke

  9. @alfagirl: I’m sure she’s achieved a lot more than any of us here, I mean sailing around the world solo at age 16- that’s quite an impressive feat.

  10. Two questions:
    1) Will this air on Ten as well, or just ONE?
    2) What are the odds Nine or Seven will do their own “rebel” coverage, consisting of helicopter shots and the like?

  11. I’ll put my hand up…I was a doubter who said she shouldn’t be doing it. I was wrong. Jessica has proved herself to be an amazing sailer and deserves all the accolades when she gets back to Sydney. Go Jess Go!
