Andy Richter is getting used to the idea of working from home… and it’s not so bad. Variety spoke to the “Conan” sidekick on Friday as he prepared to launch a new online series, the “Anidom Beyond Show,” which will air on the social broadcasting platform Caffeine over the next five Sunday nights at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.

It’s an after show devoted to Fox’s “Animation Domination” block, which includes “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “Bless the Harts” and “Duncanville.” Richter will talk to the creators and producers behind some of those shows, along with fans and talent, each week.

“I like to know about people’s work, how they do it, what their day is like,” Richter told Variety in an Instagram Live chat. “That’s going to be the point of the show an to have fun.”

On the day that Richter was talking to Variety, workers from Spectrum were installing new, heavy-duty WiFi equipment to help improve the signal from his house. Coincidentally, that boosted WiFi will also help with his day job on TBS’ “Conan,” as he continues to pop up and do segments via video conference with host Conan O’Brien.

Fans of “Conan” have gotten a good look at Richter’s kitchen, where he shoots much of his “Conan” material. “That’s where I sit on the computer anyway,” he says.

But Richter wonders how much of these at-home TV shows will trigger a new normal. “Look we’re doing a show and we’re not leaving the house, maybe that could continue!” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if the combination of the convenience of it and the fact that show business likes anything thats cheap. Before this they would say, ‘this isn’t high enough quality.’ Now that it’s already been on the air and it’s so cheap, they’ll probably go, ‘yeah I think we could do lots of shows on our computer!'”

Richter also thinks you’ll see more big stars, who hadn’t previously interacted on social media, become more accessible that way.

As for the “Anidom Beyond Show,” it will be co-produced remotely by Caffeine Studios and Fox Entertainment, and exclusively available on Caffeine for 24 hours, after which it will be posted on Fox Now and Fox.com.
