The Lord Howe Golden Whistler is an endemic sub-species of the Golden Whistler found only on Lord Howe Island, between Australia and NZ. It is one of two extant endemic small passerines of forests on the island, the other being the Lord Howe Silvereye vimeo.com/294091848.
Common on the island and in early spring, as here, very vocal. To me the song of the male of the Lord Howe ssp. is quite different when compared to birds from mainland southeastern Australia, as here vimeo.com/143094237
Also vimeo.com/184092732 a male mainland bird displaying to an unseen female - quite different.
