Spit & Roast Chicken’ and ‘Mother Flipper Burgers’ at Brockley Market

Fan of burgers AND chicken? If so, this is something special for you. How about a huge double patty burger topped with cheese and candied bacon with some great buttermilk fried chicken slammed in the middle?

Food collaborations are fantastic. Chefs occasionally get together to create something a little special and ‘out-of-the-box’. But I bet they’re sometimes a little bored and take to experimenting before the crowds arrive. Whatever the reason, they’re great for creating wonderful and often freakishly large hybrids.

This is the “McGangBang” (not to be confused with the “Gang Bang Burger” from Big Dirty Burger).

Not sure whether they invented it ‘on-the-fly’ today or whether it was planned, but I was presented with a ‘towerblock’ of a burger when I arrived at Brockley Market this morning.

Although I didn’t ask, it looks like Andreas of Mother Flipper took his special “Dirty Barbie” Burger (“Double Patty, Double Cheese, Candy Bacon, Candy Onions, BBQ Sauce”) to the operating theatre of fried chicken gurus, Justin and Ross of Spit & Roast who, with surgical precision, slammed in a huge piece of buttermilk fried chicken for a monster sized “cluck-n-turf” combo.

For those on a diet but crave burgers, face it, you’re screwed. This tastes damn good and contains the daily calorie intake of a barefoot marathon runner… who loves to burn carbs… by running naked to generate his own heat… in Arctic conditions… to the North Pole.

Sorry dieters, but damn, that was one fine burger!

Note: I did not even attempt to finish this monster as I don’t have the appetite of a rugby team. I had half of it and the other half was shared between multiple members of Mother Flipper‘s team at Brockley Market.
