Jessica Watson says it was emotional and surreal to watch the Netflix film based on her teen solo adventure.

She became a household name when she completed a 210-day solo attempt to circumnavigate the globe, just shy of her 17th birthday.

She was named Young Australian of the Year, and penned a memoir called True Spirit.

And now, that memoir has been turned into a Netflix film.

“I honestly consider myself so privileged to have seen a bit of that world, it’s a crazy world though, I think I am going to stick to sailing!” she joked to Sofie Formica.

Watching it the first time, when it wasn’t quite finished, she admitted it was quite emotional.
