Harvest

In about 12 -14 weeks, the nearest tendril to the fruit will dry and turn hard then the stalk breaks easily away from the fruit.

Hints

Fruit is ready when it pulls easily off the vine.

Watch out for:

Anything that is hungry, rockmelons will be eaten by anything from rats to beetles

Proven varieties

Ha'Ogen, and many other heirloom varieties of melon are far more tasty than your supermarket varieties. Try something out of the ordinary, from a seed network, you will marvel at the flavour.
