Actor David Wenham through soundtracks

Posted

Many know what a great actor David Wenham is, but you might be surprised by just how many movies he's appeared in. Here are five films that Wenham has starred in with some memorable music.

Lord of the Rings

Many of us know him as Diver Dan, but you might also know him best as Faramir, Captain of the Rangers of Ithilien, Captain of the White Tower, Steward to the King of Gondor, Lord of Emyn Arnen, and Prince of Ithilien. Whether you love or hate the films, Howard Shore's score is certainly epic in length and scale.

Dark City

This is a real blast from the past, with Wenham disguised underneath some prosthetics, and a score by Trevor Jones, who also wrote the score for the cult-classic Labyrinth.

Pirates of the Caribbean

With the franchise growing so rapidly, you might be forgiven if you don't know that it was the fifth film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales that Wenham appeared in. This was the first film without Hans Zimmer at the music helm, with music composed instead by Geoff Zanelli who worked alongside Zimmer on the earlier films in the franchise.

Lion

He was somewhat eclipsed by the astounding 80's hair that Nicole Kidman was sporting, but he was certainly a part of this highly successful Australian film. Another successful Aussie, Sia, wrote a song especially for the film.

Cosi

Lastly, remember when he was an unhinged pyromaniac in this Aussie classic, based on a Mozart opera?
