An anime Billie Eilish in the Takashi Murakami-helmed clip for her 2019 'you should see me in a crown' video

Dropping her debut album next week and touring Australia soon after, Billie Eilish has today revisited her Hottest 100 #46 song 'you should me see me in a crown' with a new animated video.

The clip was created in collaboration with Takashi Murakami, the contemporary artist who's previously worked with Kanye West and Kid Cudi on KIDS SEE GHOSTS, as well as Pharrell.

Eilish and Murakami met last year while the teenage pop prodigy was on tour in Japan, resulting in a visual team-up for GARAGE magazine, and now the new 'crown' video. The anime clip incorporates elements of Billie's BLOHSH apparel line and Murakami's famous flowers. And just like the 'bury a friend' video, it all goes a bit freakin' horror in tone.

In a statement, Murakami explained the collaboration took "eight months from start to finish, I sprinted throughout the production process with my animation team striving to realise Billie’s vision in an unprecedented way."

Billie described the Japanese artist as an "incredible visionary", adding it was "an honour to collaborate with him and have our brains and our worlds collide for this video."

'you should see me in a crown' will feature on Billie's debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? alongside previously released singles 'wish you were gay' and 'bury a friend'. We're still waiting to see what happens with that collab with Rosalía.

The album is out 29 March, just before the e just before the 17yo does on her Aussie visit. You can find Groovin The Moo details here and WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP Australian tour details here.
