Team Edward? Team Jacob? Nope! Kristen Stewart is Team Mullet, as evidenced by her fresh new haircut. Stewart has been on a bit of a hair journey lately, starting with a bleach blonde asymmetric bob, then chopping it off in favor of a dark grunge pixie. The long pixie has now grown out into a full-on mullet and I gotta be honest: Stewart makes a very compelling case for the divisive haircut.
The actor showed off her latest look during the Berlin Film Festival, hitting the red carpet in her signature Chanel for a fun juxtaposition of the casually undone mullet with the high fashion, perfectly polished French vibe of the legendary design house. Stewart wore her dark brunette hair in styled-yet-unstyled wet-look waves with short, choppy, curtain bangs and a messy texture with gentle curls at the nape of her neck. The mullet hits at the top of Stewart's spine, all the better to show off the Chanel, of course.
The star wore minimal makeup appearing mostly barefaced save for a bit of mascara and a hint of waterliner to make her gorgeous green eyes stand out. This cut is perfect for the star, who always nails the balance of rock ‘n’ roll cool and celebrity shine without looking like she tried too hard. It's grunge, but it's glamour, aka the Kristen Stewart style philosophy.
Part of Stewart's magic is that she's a total style chameleon. She can rock short bangs and an updo as effortlessly as she takes on a wet-look ponytail. While she never shies away from an experimental style, she also always looks like herself no matter what's going on with her glam. What's next for the Kristen Stewart universe of hairstyles? A return to long lengths à la Bella Swan? Maybe a pop of blonde? The actor always keeps us guessing, but that's part of the fun.
