Some chipping, rubbing and wear to the dustcover edge with several one inch tears along the head and base of the spine now protected with a Mylar cover. First published in paperback in 1971 this is the first hardcover edition from 1979. This edition was bound up by and released by Clark. Obviously I already loved the photographs before I purchased this book. However seeing them printed is such a better experience than seeing them online. The book is of good quality and is surprisingly thin. Only issue is that it holds fingerprints pretty easily on the covers… but it’s great otherwise.

A very disturbing series of photographs that tells an interesting story of depraved behavior. I enjoyed the selection of photos that I saw at the Denver art museum so I ordered the whole book. I thought I knew what I was in for but some of the photos are still hard for me to look at. While there are a lot of photos that are just plain creepy there are some that are also just plain interesting and even clever. I'm glad I bought it, but I sure don't leaf through it everyday.

I knew David Roper and Bobby Dean Morris in the early 70’s. I didn’t know about them shooting up. I wonder if they are still alive. David was a very handsome man. I didn’t know much about him except he hung out with other people I knew. Bobby Dean was always nice around me. I never saw the wilder side of him. He had some beautiful Harleys, a three wheeler and beautiful old cars he had redone. We use to ride around on his three wheeler Harley. I wish the photographer would have put the names with the other photos. I only knew two of them.
