Bill Henson Untitled #80, 1998/1999/2000 JPC SH 63 N16 Archival inkjet print 127 x 180 cm Edition of 5 + 2 A/Ps Image courtesy of the artist and Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney Bill Henson’s photographs arrest moments of vulnerability and capture the world of youth through the lens of Classicism. A seminal and internationally acclaimed contemporary artist, Henson’s extraordinary images describe the subtle shifts that occur between childhood and adulthood, light and dark, the city and its outskirts. Untitled #7 is one of three Bill Henson images created between 1998-2000 that Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery presents at Art | Basel, Hong Kong 2015. The cool palette of these works is illuminated by punctuations of chiaroscuro, transforming his contemporary subject into a dramatic, formal figure.   Bill Henson represented Australia at the Venice Biennale in 1995.
