Folio (about 338x265 mm.). 2 hand-coloured stipple engraved frontispiece portraits (Holbein and his wife), 82 hand-coloured stipple engraved portrait plates (all, partly on pink paper, some minor foxing and spotting).
Contemporary red half calf, somewhat worn, gilt spine in six compartments, loose in upper hinge. Some foxing or spotting to text.

First published in 1792, this is a second edition, an imitation of the first in a lesser size, and with other engravers. (For the first edition. see Abbey 205, and for the present edition the note).
