Dr McKay, a 68 year-old and retired consultant anaesthetist, first graduated from the University with a medical degree in 1970. No 1 Student: Graduation at Queens this week marks the end to a special year for Leonard Maguire from Dungannon. The Queen's dental graduate was ranked the number one student in the UK in the National Dental Foundation Training assessment procedure, after beating off competition from more than 1200 final year dental students from across the UK's 16 Dental Schools and from Dental Schools in Europe.

Queen's student Sinead Loughran, originally from New York and now living in Pomeroy, is graduating in Law. Sinead is currently enjoying her place on the Clinton Summer School at Queen's Riddel Hall.

Franklin Anekwe from Nigeria who is graduating in Business Economics. During his studies Frankiln won the Shaw Memorial Prize award for the Best Performing Level 2 student in Business Economics, he now intends to start an International MBA at Queen's.

Lisa May from Portadown gratuated with a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies from Queen's University. After graduation she plans to continue as a Manger of First Step Junior Nursery in Portadown.

Catherine Power from Newtownards graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Studies at Queen's University and is continuing her studies with a PGCE in Liverpool in September.
