1960s Wally Green; Reynolds 531
SOLD: Wally Green made in England. Original paint.
Size is 56.5cm seat tube center to center and 58.5cm top tube.
Wally Green built frames for a number of English brands and under his own name in the 1950's into the early 1960's. The date this frame was built is unknown, but guessing late 1950's to early 1960's.

Frame constructed from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing with Campagnolo 1010 dropouts. English threading, 1” steerer, 27.2mm seat post diameter.
This frame is a beautiful example of frame building craft and refined lugwork of the 1950s and 1960s. Using standard Nervex Pro lugs, Wally filed and reshaped the joints to create a unique and elegant look. This frame has braze-on fittings for most components, unusual for the time period when clamped on parts was the norm. Of interest, there is a Custom's stamp on the left chain stay, presumably for import to the U.S.
Ready to ride, this bike is equipped with a period mix of quality components. Campagnolo shift levers, Record derailleurs, early high flange hubs, seat post. T.A. crankset, Brampton (I think) HS, Stronglight bottom bracket, BBB pedals, GB Spearpoint stem with GB randonneur style bars, Velox bar plugs, Mafac Dural Forge brake set (calipers have brass bushings), Brooks B17N, Lapize alloy pump. 27" rims not labeled, but look to be Super Champion, shod with NOS 27 x 1-1/8 Panracer Pasela tires.

WOW!Look at that fork, has to be one of the most elegant I have ever seen, what a beautiful bike.
Can you grow it up to at least a 62cm. plz?
This is a bargain IMO, GLWS.

I'm ridiculously tempted to buy this bike and I don't need nor want another bike.
The top tube is a little longer than I like but a shorter stem would fix that . . .
I have a late 50s Claud Butler that is in very good shape with original paint. It's not quite as nice as this as it's straight gauge 531. I was planning on building it with fairly similar components. I'd have to get rid of that project if I buy this.
I'll think about this. Someone else might want/need this more than I do,

This bike is amazing and a good price for the condition/vintage/quality of the work. Just look at that stem with the built-in cable stop!
