History and Architecture:

The church was consecrated in May 1892. The church bell is a relic of the Hopetoun mill. The building was restored both outside and inside in 1974. This church was built on the land purchased in 1884 from the Stubbs Family. The Reverend Edward Thompson was the Incumbent of the Huon Parish, who with the three Church Wardens (W.P. Clennett, I. Joliffe, and Alfred Clennett) petitioned Montgomery, to consecrate the church.

At the consecration, two infants were baptised, Phyllis G. Jollifie and Eric Edward Lunes. In the June, 1891 edition of the Church News, we read the following account about the consecration: The bright and hearty singing of the choir of juveniles was highly eulogised by the Bishop and congregation. Too much praise cannot be given to our worthy lay reader (Mr. William Potts Clennett) for the indefatigable manner in which he has laboured on behalf of the church, and which, we are glad to say is now bearing fruit by increased church attendance".

The inscription on the Pulpit in St. Paul's reads: "In loving memory of Catherine Anne Clayton who worked devotedly for this church. August 26th. 1932."
